STAKES SUCCESS FOR GOFFS YEARLING PERFECT SYMMETRY (02 Jul 2009) |
Goffs yearling Perfect Symmetry won the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes in good style at Fairyhouse on Wednesday. Ger Lyons’ charge tracked the leaders early on before taking advantage of an opening up the rail as he entered the straight and running on strongly to win by a length. This was a very impressive by the two year old by Italian sire Le Vie Dei Colori, having won his maiden just two weeks ago at Leopardstown.
Perfect Symmetry was sold by Rathmore Stud to David Redmond Bloodstock for €20,000 at last year’s Goffs Million Sale.

TURKISH GROUP 1 VICTORY FOR GOFFS (01 Jul 2009) |
Goffs graduates are winning at the highest level worldwide this year, with victories including the French 1000 Guineas and Italian Oaks. On Sunday the success of Invincible Son in a Group 1 in Istanbul, Turkey was added to this list. This was the seventh career victory for the three year old Orpen colt who won the Turkish 2000 Guineas last month,
Invincible Son was bought in utero when his dam Safe Exit was purchased at Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale for €30,000. She was sold by Norelands Stud to Omer Aydin.

RADIOHEAD PLAYS MUSIC TO THE EARS OF HIS NORFOLK WINNING CONNECTIONS (18 Jun 2009) |
Despite being seriously impeded over 2 furlongs from home, Radiohead gathered himself and showed a rare composure and turn of foot to readily win the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He looks like a colt that will progress again over 6 furlongs and looks set to challenge at Group 1 level later in the season.
Owned by Mrs Carmen Burrell & Jonathan Harvey, this son of Johannesburg was sold at the Goffs November Foal Sale for €130,000 to Grove Stud by Charlie and Alice Mason's Silfield Bloodstock....

CANFORD CLIFFS BLITZES COVENTRY STAKES FIELD (16 Jun 2009) |
Always a highly thought of horse in the Richard Hannon stable, Canford Cliffs displayed the array of talents that had impressed those closest to him when he ran out the dominant 6 length winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
An easy winner on his debut, Canford Cliffs took a very keen hold early in the race when many of those around him were being nudged along to keep up with the pace.
